Application and work scope
Food packaging artwork has to work on the finished pack. These application notes describe the design-to-production decisions to settle before cylinder preparation and printing. HUAYN coordinates artwork review with the agreed packaging and print requirements.
Start with the product, pack format, finished dimensions and filling method. Provide the customer's approved ingredient, allergen, nutrition and other required copy; text awaiting approval should remain identifiable during artwork development.
Layout decisions before artwork approval
Mark the front and back panels, folds, seals and any zipper or opening feature on the dieline. Check where these features fall when the pack is filled. Keep important copy and codes out of areas where the agreed pack construction would obscure them.
For a range of flavours or sizes, identify which graphics stay common and which change. A design list tied to file versions helps prevent the wrong text or colour variant from entering production.
Prepress handover
Send editable artwork or the agreed print-file format with linked images, fonts or outlined text, and colour references. Confirm dimensions, separations and trapping with the production team. Identify the reference used to judge colour and any effects that need a physical sample.
Use the prepress service to define the file review, then agree the release into cylinder preparation.
Approval and delivery checks
Record approval of the final text, artwork revision and pack specification. Define the print and finished-pack checks for the order before production. Inspection and removal of products identified as nonconforming support the quality of the delivery batch.
